DN200 8'' EPDM Single Axial Rubber Ball
Key Specifications
Nominal bore: DN200 / 8"
Body material: EPDM rubber — excellent resistance to weathering, aging, acids, alkalis, and hot water
Face-to-face length: Typically 210 mm (varies slightly by standard)
Pressure rating: Commonly PN10 / PN16 (1.0–1.6 MPa)
Temperature range: Approx. -10 °C to +100 °C (standard EPDM range; some manufacturers rate up to 115 °C or 150 °C)
Movement capability (reference): Axial compression approx. 20–25 mm, axial extension approx. 12–16 mm, lateral movement approx. 22 mm, angular deflection approx. 15°
Construction & Performance
Construction: Inner rubber layer, multiple plies of nylon fabric reinforcement, steel wire reinforcing rings, and an outer rubber cover, with flanged ends (typically galvanized carbon steel or stainless steel).
Function: The rubber's high elasticity absorbs axial extension/compression, lateral displacement, and angular deflection in the pipeline, preventing stress damage caused by thermal expansion/contraction or foundation settlement.
Vibration & noise control: Effectively isolates vibration transmitted from pumps, compressors, and other equipment to the piping, reducing structural noise.
Suitable Media & Applications
Media: Hot water, cold water, seawater, sewage, weak acids/alkalis, and compressed air. Note: EPDM is not oil-resistant — do not use with petroleum or mineral oil media (use NBR for oil service).
Typical applications: Water supply and drainage, HVAC, fire protection systems, circulating water pipelines, and industrial piping in power plants and chemical plants. Particularly suitable for pump suction/discharge connections as a flexible coupling.
Installation Notes
Do not exceed rated movement: Never exceed the product's maximum rated displacement during installation. Do not weld or cut on the joint.
Support & restraint: For suspended or high-pressure lines (especially large-diameter DN200), fixed supports or restraint devices (tie rods) must be installed to prevent excessive elongation of the joint under internal pressure.
