DN150 Double Spheres Floating Flanged Axial Rubber Expansion Joint Connector

DN150 6''.
The DN150 Double Spheres Floating Flanged Axial Rubber Expansion Joint Connector is a high-performance flexible piping component designed to absorb axial movement, reduce vibration, and compensate for misalignment in pipeline systems. With a nominal diameter of DN150 (6 inches), this double-sphere configuration provides greater flexibility and movement capacity than single-sphere designs, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications.

Construction and Materials
The connector features a robust construction with two spherical rubber bellows molded as a single integrated body. The rubber compound is typically selected from EPDM, NBR, Neoprene (CR), or natural rubber, depending on the media being conveyed. EPDM offers excellent resistance to hot water, steam, and weathering, while NBR provides superior oil and fuel resistance. Neoprene delivers good overall chemical resistance and flame retardancy. The body is reinforced with high-strength synthetic fabric cords and steel wire rings embedded within the rubber to withstand operating pressure and maintain structural integrity. Both ends are fitted with floating flanges, typically made of carbon steel, stainless steel, or ductile iron, drilled to DIN, ANSI, JIS, or other international standards. The floating flange design allows easy rotation for bolt-hole alignment during installation, simplifying assembly in confined spaces.
Key Features
Double-sphere design absorbs large axial movement and provides excellent vibration isolation.
Floating flanges enable easy bolt alignment and installation flexibility.
High-pressure resistance with multiple fabric and wire reinforcement layers.
Wide temperature range: typically -20°C to +120°C for EPDM, and up to +80°C for NBR.
Corrosion-resistant flange options available for aggressive environments.
Low noise transmission and reduced stress on pipeline supports and anchors.
Technical Specifications
Nominal diameter: DN150 (6"). Working pressure: typically 1.0 MPa to 1.6 MPa (10 to 16 bar), with higher ratings available upon request. Axial movement capacity: approximately 20 mm to 35 mm depending on the specific model and manufacturer. Lateral movement: approximately 10 mm to 20 mm. Angular deflection: typically 15° to 20°. Flange standard: DIN PN10/PN16, ANSI Class 150, JIS 10K, or customized. Test pressure: 1.5 times the working pressure for hydrostatic testing.
Applications
This expansion joint connector is widely used in water supply and drainage systems, HVAC installations, chemical processing plants, power generation facilities, marine piping systems, and industrial wastewater treatment. It is particularly suitable for pipelines requiring significant axial compensation, such as pump connections, chiller lines, and compressor discharge piping, where vibration and thermal expansion must be effectively managed.
Installation Notes
Install the connector between fixed pipeline anchors with proper alignment. Do not twist the rubber body during installation. Use gaskets and tighten flange bolts evenly in a diagonal sequence. Control rods or limit rods are recommended for applications with excessive movement or pressure thrust. Regular inspection for rubber aging, cracking, or deformation is advised to ensure long-term reliable service.
