This expansion joint consists of two sets of stainless steel bellows linked by an intermediate pipe, matched with end pipes, tie rods, hinge assemblies and end plates. Multi-layer integral formed bellows adopt 304, 316L or 321 stainless steel as standard materials. Main categories include unrestrained duplex type, large tie rod duplex type, duplex hinge type and duplex gimbal hinge type.
## Working Principle Elastic deformation of bellows absorbs axial displacement, lateral displacement, angular deflection and combined complex displacements generated from pipeline thermal expansion, thermal contraction and equipment vibration. Models fitted with tie rods or hinges counteract pressure thrust produced by internal medium, lowering the load borne by pipeline fixed supports significantly.
