Large diameter carbon steel flange EPDM rubber expansion joint
DN800
Large diameter carbon steel flange EPDM rubber expansion joint is a large-size flexible pipe compensator. It uses carbon steel flanges for easy pipeline connection, and EPDM rubber body features excellent resistance to aging, water, and mild acid/alkali. Equipped with limit tie rods as an option, it absorbs thermal expansion, vibration and installation deviation, widely applied in municipal water supply, sewage, HVAC and pump station pipelines.

Large Diameter Carbon Steel Flange EPDM Rubber Expansion Joint
1. Product Overview
This large-diameter rubber expansion joint is a flexible pipeline compensation component specially developed for heavy-caliber industrial and municipal piping systems. It is composed of an EPDM rubber sphere body and Q235 carbon steel flanges, with optional limit tie rods for anti-breakage protection. The product can effectively absorb axial, lateral and angular displacement generated by pipeline thermal expansion, mechanical vibration and construction installation errors, isolate vibration and noise transmitted from water pumps, fans and valves, and relieve pipeline structural stress to prevent pipe cracking and leakage. It is widely used in DN1200~DN2000 large-diameter water supply, sewage treatment, HVAC circulation, power plant cooling water and chemical low-corrosion fluid delivery pipelines.

2. Core Material Advantages
- EPDM Rubber Bellows Body The main rubber layer adopts high-quality EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber, reinforced with multi-layer nylon cord fabric and steel wire skeleton inside. It features outstanding aging resistance, ozone resistance, high-temperature resistance (-40℃ ~ +120℃), and excellent tolerance to clean water, wastewater, weak acid, weak alkali and atmospheric erosion. It will not harden or crack under long-term outdoor buried or overhead working conditions, with a service life more than 3 times longer than ordinary natural rubber joints.
- Q235 Carbon Steel Flange The connecting flange is made of thickened Q235 carbon steel, treated with hot-dip galvanizing or blue anti-rust paint on the surface. It complies with GB/T, ANSI, DIN standard flange drilling sizes, matches all mainstream large-diameter steel pipes and valves, and has strong compression and tensile resistance to avoid flange deformation under high PN10/PN16/PN20 working pressure.
- Optional Limit Tie Rods Matched galvanized steel limit bolts and nuts can be installed on both sides of the flange. The tie rods lock the maximum stretching offset of the rubber body, preventing over-stretching and tearing of the expansion joint caused by water hammer or excessive pipeline pulling force, greatly improving safety for long-distance buried pipelines.
3. Main Performance Parameters
- Nominal Diameter: DN1200, DN1400, DN1600, DN1700, DN1800, DN2000
- Working Pressure: PN10, PN16, PN20
- Operating Temperature: -40℃ ~ 120℃
- Allowed Displacement: Axial compression/extension, horizontal lateral deflection, angular deflection
- Connection Standard: GB national standard carbon steel flange, customizable ANSI/DIN flange
- Medium Adaptation: Tap water, sewage, cooling water, neutral salt water, weak acid/weak alkali liquid
4. Key Functional Features
- Strong displacement compensation capacity: The single-sphere curved rubber structure can buffer multi-directional pipeline deformation without generating additional stress on pipe supports and pump equipment.
- Excellent shock and noise isolation: Cut off vibration transmission between pumps and pipelines, reduce pipeline resonance noise by over 30 decibels.
- Tight sealing performance: Integrated vulcanization molding between rubber body and flange, no gap leakage under long-term fluid scouring.
- Easy installation and maintenance: Flexible rubber body allows slight alignment adjustment during on-site pipeline assembly; no welding required for later replacement, greatly cutting construction time and maintenance costs.
- Weather & corrosion resistant: EPDM material resists ultraviolet radiation and underground soil corrosion, suitable for both indoor factory and outdoor municipal buried projects.
5. Wide Application Fields
- Municipal engineering: Large-diameter urban water supply trunk lines, sewage treatment plant outlet pipes, flood control drainage pipelines
- Power industry: Circulating cooling water pipelines for thermal power and hydropower stations
- HVAC system: Large central air-conditioning cooling and heating main pipes
- Chemical industry: Delivery pipelines for low-corrosion neutral aqueous solutions
- Pump station project: Soft connection between large water pumps and outlet pipelines to protect pump casings
